The Irish national U-17 football team is a national team of Irish football players . It is subject to the Football Association of Ireland and represents them internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-17 European and U-17 World Cups .
The team became European champions in Scotland in 1998 . In 1996 she had already reached the quarter-finals. Most recently she was eliminated in the preliminary round in 2000 and 2008 . So far, she has not been able to qualify for a world championship.
