Charlotte Bonin (born February 10, 1987 in Aosta ) is an Italian triathlete , two-time Olympian (2008, 2016) and multiple national champion (duathlon and triathlon).

Career

In 2004 Charlotte Bonin was third in the aquathlon at the World Championships in Portugal (2.5 km run, 1 km swim and 2.5 km run).

In 2004 and again in 2005 she was Italian junior state champion in triathlon.

State champion Duathlon short distance 2006

In 2006 Charlotte Bonin was Italian Duathlon Champion, Italian Triathlon Vice-Champion in 2007 and 2010 and Triathlon State Champion in 2008. Charlotte Bonin belongs to the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Gialle , a sports club of the Polizia Penitenziaria, the judicial guard.

2008 Summer Olympics

At the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing in 2008 Bonin finished 44th.

In France, Charlotte Bonin appeared in 2010 for the Club Tri Club Nantais in the club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux . At the opening competition in Dunkirk on May 23, 2010 Bonin was able to reach 33rd place and was among the three best, the triathlètes classants l'equipe, of their club, which competed without French women: Anna Maria Mazzetti came in seventh, Maria Pujol Perez 21st, Bonin 33rd and Scarlet Vatlach 42. In their second and last Lyonnaise triathlon this season in Beauvais (June 13th 2010) Bonin finished 17th and was the best of her club, the second best of the club was Margie Santimaria .

In 2011, Charlotte Bonin started in the German Bundesliga for Club EJOT.

2016 Summer Olympics

Charlotte Bonin qualified for a place at the 2016 Summer Olympics, she started in Rio de Janeiro on August 20th and finished 17th as the best Italian.

In October 2018, the then 31-year-old became the Italian national champion in the short distance triathlon for the third time after 2008 and 2013.

In 2019 she competed in the Paratriathlon World Cup in Alanya as a guide for the blind Anna Barbaro , who won the gold medal.
