Andrea Nicolas Salvisberg (born February 1, 1989 in Rüegsauschachen ) is a Swiss triathlete and Olympian (2016).

Career

Andrea Salvisberg was Swiss champion in youth class A in 2005 and 2006, in the junior class in 2007 and 2008 and in the U23 class in 2010.

Andrea Salvisberg is a member of the Swiss Triathlon Team Olympic Distance - in 2011 still together with his two brothers Florin and Lukas . The youngest brother Fabian is also part of the ewz power team , but not of the Swiss national team. Salvisberg's mother, Renata Salvisberg, was also a triathlete and still takes an active part in competitions in the age group (W50). She was able to qualify repeatedly for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii .

In September 2012 Andrea Salvisberg finished seventh at the U23 European Championships in Spain.

In May 2016 he finished third at the European Championships on the Olympic short distance in Lisbon.

2016 Summer Olympics

Andrea Salvisberg competed for Switzerland at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on August 18 - together with Nicola Spirig , Jolanda Annen , and Sven Riederer - and he finished in 16th place.

In 2017, he was the second-best Swiss in the ITU Point List in 34th place (behind Adrien Briffod , 28th place). In the 2018 World Championship racing series , he finished 36th as the best Swiss.

In June 2020 Andrea Salvisberg was runner-up in the Swiss championship over 10,000 m track in 29:27 minutes behind Tadesse Abraham in Uster.

He starts for the ewz power team and is trained by Brett Sutton . Andrea Salvisberg lives in Hasle-Rüegsau .
