organization
The distances for these races are 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running.
This World Cup has been organized annually by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) since 1989 . Since 2009 the World Cup has been expanded to include a racing series.
There were six races over the Olympic distance for men and women in 2010 and the seventh race was held in Budapest as the “Grand Final” in September.
In the overall standings, the world championship title went to Australian Emma Moffatt , who was able to successfully defend her title from the previous year. She was often at the forefront of the races, but was still unable to win an individual race in the 2010 season.
In 2010, the men's title went to Spaniard Francisco Javier Gómez Noya .
