Paula Findlay (born May 26, 1989 in Edmonton ) is a Canadian triathlete .

Career

Paula Findlay started swimming at the age of five.

In 2006 she took part in the Junior Triathlon World Championships in Lausanne and was thirteenth.

In 2010 she celebrated her greatest successes to date with her two victories at the World Championship series in July in London and August in Kitzbühel on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In the annual ranking of the ITU racing series , she reached fifth place.

In 2011 she won the first three races in Sydney, Madrid and Kitzbühel and she finally finished the 2011 ITU racing series on the Olympic distance in sixth place in the annual ranking.

2012 Summer Olympics

In 2012 she was able to place herself together with Kathy Tremblay , Simon Whitfield and Kyle Jones for a starting place at the Olympic Games in London, where she finished 52nd in August as a 22-year-old.

In October 2017, she started in Austin (Texas) for the first time in the middle distance ( Ironman 70.3 : 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running).

In May 2018, she won the Ironman 70.3 St. George and thus the US Championships on her second start in the middle distance .

In December 2019 she won her second Ironman 70.3 race with the Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells-La Quinta . In the same month, just a week later, at the Challenge Daytona with Lionel Sanders in the men's category , she achieved a Canadian double success.

Paula Findlay is cared for by Pat Kelly . She studies in Alberta and lives in Edmonton .
