Dmitri Andrejewitsch Poljanski ( Russian Дмитрий Андреевич Полянский , English Dmitry Polyanski , also transcribed as Dmitriy Polyanskiy or Polyansky , born November 19, 1986 in Schelesnogorsk (Krasnoyarsk) , 2009 Russian triathlete , multiple triathlete member of the U. -State champion, runner-up European champion on the Olympic short distance (2016) and three-time Olympic athlete (2008, 2012, 2016).
Career
In 2003 Poljanski took part in his first ITU triathlon in Győr, in the same year he was awarded the title of Master of Sports (Мастер спорта). In 2007 he won the Russian triathlon championships and became team world champion with his team in Tiszaújváros.
In 2008 he finished 22nd out of 55 starters at the Olympic Games in Beijing .
U23 European triathlon champion short distance
In June 2009 he became triathlon U23 European champion and he won the bronze medal at the Russian championships in Penza on the Olympic distance.
In 2010, the more important Elite Cup triathlon in Hy-Vee prevented him from participating in the Russian championship. In 2010, Dmitri Poljanski also took part in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux and starts for Saint-Raphaël Tri. At the first Lyonnaise Triathlon in Dunkirk, Dmitri Poljanski finished fifth and was by far the best runner in his club, for whom he secured fifth place in the club ranking. Incidentally, Saint-Raphaël Tri competed without a single French triathlete, which was allowed in 2010, but was banned from 2010/11 and was previously practically impossible because only one foreign legionnaire was allowed to be among the three best runners of a club who were used for the club ranking . In Tourangeaux (August 29, 2010) Dmitri Polyanski was 5th, at the Grand Final in La Baule (September 18, 2010) 32.
In 2011 Dmitri - together with his wife Anastasija , his brother Igor and his girlfriend Lyubow Ivanovskaya - took part in the French club championship and competed for the Saint Raphaël triathlon .
In June 2012 he became European triathlon champion with the Russian mixed relay in Israel.
In addition to Alexander Brjuchankow and Ivan Vasiliev, Polyansky qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , where he finished 21st out of 55 starters in August.
Vice European Triathlon Champion 2016
In May 2016 he was runner-up in the European Olympic distance. Poljanski competed for Russia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on August 18 and finished 32nd immediately behind his younger brother.
In May 2019, the 32-year-old finished third at the World Aquathlon Championships in Spain.
Private
Dmitri Poljanski is the older brother of Igor Poljanski (* 1990), also a professional triathlete and legionnaire at Saint-Raphaël Tri, by four years . He has been married to the Ukrainian-Russian triathlete Anastasija Poljanskaja (née Jatsenko) since 2007 . Poljanski lives with his wife and daughter in Penza , where the Russian triathlon championships have been held over and over again.
