Adrien Briffod (born August 2, 1994 in Vevey ) is a Swiss duathlete and triathlete . He is Swiss Junior Triathlon Champion (2013).

Career

Adrien Briffod came to triathlon as a 10-year-old and attended the Gymnasium de Burier in La Tour-de-Peilz .

Junior Swiss Champion Triathlon 2013

In August 2013 he became Junior Swiss Triathlon Champion and a week later he won his first race in the Junior European Cup in Hungary.

In 2015 he was Vice Swiss Duathlon Champion in Zofingen . Briffod starts in the elite B-squad of the Swiss Triathlon national team . He finished sixth in the 2016 Triathlon World Student Championship in Nyon.

At the U23 Duathlon World Championship on the short distance, he finished third in August 2017. He is trained by Alain Schmutz . In the 2017 ITU World Championship racing series , he finished as the best Swiss in 28th place in the elite class. In March 2018 he finished eighth in the first race of the ITU World Championship racing series on the short distance triathlon.

In the 2018 World Championship racing series , he finished as the third-best Swiss in 47th place. In 2019 he ended the season as the best Swiss in 38th place. Briffod lives in St-Légier .

Awards

  • At the “Swiss Triathlon Award 2017” (Swiss Triathlete of the Year) in December, he finished second behind Ruedi Wild .
