Reinaldo Colucci (born October 29, 1985 in Descalvado , São Paulo state ) is a Brazilian triathlete . He is a two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012), World Triathlon Champion (2012) and winner of the 5150 European Championship (2014).

Career

Reinaldo Colucci grew up in the small town of Descalvado in the Brazilian state of São Paulo . He successfully completed his first Ironman as an 18-year-old in Brazil in 2004 and finished eighth in Florianópolis. He was trained by Brett Sutton .

In August 2006 he was able to win the EDF Alpe d'Huez triathlon in France on the short distance .

2008 Summer Olympics

In 2008 he started for Brazil at the Summer Olympics in Beijing in the triathlon (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running), where he finished 37th.

At the Ironman World Championships in October 2009, he finished 21st in Hawaii.

2012 Summer Olympics

In 2012 Colucci was able to qualify again for the Olympic Games and he finished 36th in London. In August, he won the World Triathlon Championship in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In January 2014 he won for the fourth time in the middle distance at Ironman 70.3 Pucón and in July he won the "5150 European Championships" in Zurich.

In November 2016 he won an Ironman 70.3 race (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) for the sixth time at the middle distance in Rio de Janeiro. Reinaldo Colucci is trained by Eduardo Braz .

In 2019, the 34-year-old became the Brazilian short-distance triathlon champion for the fifth time in November.
