The Eparchy of San Gregorio de Narek en Buenos Aires was established on February 18, 1989 by Pope John Paul II with the papal bull Cum Christifideles ritus Armeni in Republica Argentina from the Apostolic Exarchate Latin America and Mexico . The eparchy is immediate . The first bishop of the eparchy was Vartán Waldir Boghossian SDB .
