Eparchy
An eparchy (from ancient Greek ἐπαρχία eparchia "the province") is a diocese of the Eastern Churches and corresponds to the "diocese" of the Latin Church . The diocesan bishop of an eparch is entitled Eparch .
Dioceses outside the ancestral territory of a church are called the exarchate .
An eparchy can consist of several vicariates .
In the old church , the structure of the church administration was based on the state administrative boundaries and the name was also derived from the administrative unit eparchy .
