The Ironman 70.3 Santa Rosa is an annual triathlon sporting event of the Ironman 70.3 series in Santa Rosa (California) that has been taking place under a different name since 1991 .
From 1991 to 2005 this triathlon was held in July or August under the name Half Vineman Triathlon in Sonoma County . Participants had the opportunity to qualify for the Ironman Hawaii .
The Full Vineman was held here for the first time over the long distance as early as 1990 . This race is one of the oldest and most attractive competitions of the season and was also bought up by the WTC in 2015. On July 31, 2010 the Full Vineman Triathlon was held for the 21st time and around 700 athletes were expected at the start.

Since 2006 the name of the event is Vineman Ironman 70.3 . The organizers paid for the use of the trademark Ironman 70.3 royalties to the owner of the trademark, now the Chinese Wanda Group is part of the WTC . In 2015 the WTC bought the organizer and has been organizing the Vineman Ironman 70.3 on its own ever since.
Worldwide, the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC for short) organizes over twenty races annually over the distances of 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running itself or through independent organizers who pay license fees for the use of the trademark. The name is derived from the total distance of 113 km or 70.3 miles for one. The 26th edition was held here on July 10, 2016.

For 2017, the venue was relocated to Santa Rosa , California , together with the Ironman Santa Rosa (long distance) . The race was held under a new name and the date was brought forward from July to May. The next race is on July 28, 2018.
