Holly Lawrence (born February 25, 1990 in London ) is a triathlete from the United Kingdom . She is Ironman 70.3 World Champion (2016).

Career

Holly Lawrence was born three of a kind and the three children were active in sports from a young age. Her sister Abigail started out in athletics and Holly started swimming with her brother Luke .

As a 16-year-old, the British competed in her first triathlon. In 2014 she started at the Commonwealth Games and finished eighth with the mixed team for Wales at Strathclyde Country Park in Glasgow .

Since 2015 she has also competed in the triathlon middle distance in the Ironman 70.3 races.

In June 2016 she won the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon on the short distance .

Winner Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2016

In September 2016, the then 26-year-old won the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Australia as her greatest success to date .

Since the 2017 season, Holly Lawrence started for the 13-man " Bahrain Elite Endurance Triathlon Team ".

Second Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2016

In May 2019, the 29-year-old was able to win the Ironman 70.3 St. George for the second time after 2017 in the middle distance and thus win her twelfth Ironman 70.3 race. In September 2019 she finished second in Nice at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships .
