Gustav Iden
Gustav Iden (born May 1, 1996 in Ytre Arna ) is a Norwegian triathlete . He is triathlon national champion (2014), duathlon national champion (2015) and reigning world champion Ironman 70.3 (2019).
Career
Gustav Iden was third in the junior duathlon world championship in May 2014 and triathlon state champion in the elite class in June. In May 2015 he was also the Duathlon State Champion. In June he started for Norway at the European Games in Baku , but could not finish the race.
In April 2018, he finished third in the second race of the world championship series on the Bermuda Islands .
In December he set the second fastest time on the Ironman 70.3 behind his compatriot Kristian Blummenfelt in his first start in the middle distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) in the Ironman 70.3 Bahrain (Middle East Championships) -Distance.
2019 World Champion Ironman 70.3
As part of World Cup racing series in the sprint Gustav Iden was the best Norwegian ninth.
In Nice, the then 23-year-old became world champion in the middle distance in only his second race in the 70.3 distance in September 2019.
In July 2020 he started the Austria Triathlon together with Casper Stornes , Kristian Blummenfelt and the Austrian Julia Hauser in the relay.
