Kristian Blummenfelt (born February 14, 1994 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian triathlete . He is a multiple national champion (2014, 2015, 2016) and competed in the 2016 Olympic Games.

Career

In 2013 Kristian Blummenfelt became national champion in the short distance triathlon (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).

In July 2015 he was third at the European Triathlon Championships on the Olympic distance and again national triathlon champion in August.

2016 Summer Olympics

At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he finished 13th in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2017 he finished third in the ITU World Championship racing series after nine races of the season.
In September, the then 23-year-old won the Super League Triathlon in Jersey in a three-day race format .
At his first start in the middle distance he won the Ironman 70.3 Bahrain in November.

In the 2018 world championship racing series, he finished fifth as the best Norwegian. In December, the then 24-year-old was able to successfully defend his title from the previous year at Ironman 70.3 Bahrain and set a new world record in an Ironman 70.3 race with a winning time of 3:29:04 h.

In December 2019 he won the Ironman 70.3 Bahrain for the third time in a row .

In July 2020 he started the Austria Triathlon together with Casper Stornes , Gustav Iden and the Austrian Julia Hauser in the relay.
