Super League Triathlon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Super League Triathlon is an international three-day triathlon sporting event that has been held since 2017 .

organization

In 2017 the Australian triathlete Chris McCormack and Michael D'Hulst founded a new triathlon competition format with the "Super League Triathlon" on Hamilton Island in Australia.

The race lasts three days:

  • On the first day, the usual order of the disciplines is mixed over short distances (300 m swimming, 6 km cycling and 2 km running) in a “triple mix”.
  • The “Equalizer” begins on the second day with an individual time trial over 15 km and an interval triathlon followed with a chase start (300 m swimming, 16 km cycling and 2.5 km running).
  • On the third day, the "Eliminator" will end with three short triathlons: 15 athletes from the first round reach the semifinals and after a break of only 10 minutes the best ten athletes qualify for the finals (each 300 m swimming, 5 km cycling and 2 km run).
