Alexander Eychmüller

Alexander Eychmüller (born June 10, 1958 in Stuttgart ) is a German chemist , scientist and university professor specializing in the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles. Since 2005 he has held the professorship for physical chemistry at the TU Dresden .

Life

From 1978 to 1984 Alexander Eychmüller studied physics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . Three years later he received his doctorate from the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Göttingen. After completing his doctorate, he received a DFG research fellowship from 1987 to 1988 for UCLA in the United States of America. He then worked as a scientist at the Hahn Meitner Institute in Berlin, where he was employed in the photochemistry department. From 1994 he worked at the University of Hamburg at the chair for physical chemistry under Horst Weller , where he received his habilitation in 1999. In 2005 he accepted the professorship for physical chemistry at the Technical University of Dresden (TUD), which he has held since then.
