Horst Weller

Horst Weller (born October 21, 1954 in Siegen ) is a German chemist . Since 1994 he has been teaching as a professor for physical chemistry at the University of Hamburg .

Weller studied chemistry at the University of Göttingen . He wrote his doctoral thesis while working at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen. He then worked at the Hahn Meitner Institute in Berlin. In 1991 he received the Nernst Haber Bodenstein Prize of the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry, and in 2012 the Julius Springer Prize .

His research focus is the colloidal production of nanoparticles and their characterization.

Horst Weller has been a full member of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg since 2005 .
