Samuel (Sam) Appleton (born October 17, 1991 ) is an Australian triathlete .

Career

Sam Appleton has been a professional athlete since 2009 and in 2009 he finished eleventh in the Junior World Championship.

In 2015 he won the Batemans Bay Challenge .

Sam Appleton is mainly active on the triathlon middle distance. He is trained by Tim Reed . He started the 2017 season in February with a win at Ironman 70.3 Geelong.

In September 2018, the then 26-year-old finished sixth as the best Australian in South Africa at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships .
