With glomerulopathy ( synonym : Glomerular disease ) any disease (thrombocytopathy) are referred to the renal concern (glomeruli).

Glomerulopathies are divided into two main groups according to their underlying cause:

• inflammatory diseases: glomerulonephritis
• non-inflammatory diseases: glomerulosclerosis

A distinction can also be made:

• Primary glomerulopathy that affects the glomeruli only
• Secondary glomerulopathy due to a systemic disease such as B. diabetes mellitus , collagenoses or vasculitides
