James Cotter (* around 1982 in Christchurch ) is a former triathlete from New Zealand who later started for the United States .

Career

James Cotter was born in New Zealand and raised in Hawaii, where his father worked. He started his first triathlon in 2000 and finished third in his age group at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships) in 2001 at the age of 19 .

Since 2003 he has been active as a professional triathlete and since 2011 he no longer appears internationally.

He lives in Austin with his wife .
