Pedro Ribeiro Silva Gomes (born December 6, 1983 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese triathlete , Ironman winner (2013) and multiple Portuguese long-distance champion.

Career

State champion triathlon long distance 2007

From 2007 to 2010 Pedro Gomes was Portuguese champion in the long distance triathlon four times in a row.

In June 2010, Gomes was fifth at the European championships on the long distance (4 km swimming, 120 km cycling and 30 km running). In October he started the Ironman distance in Barcelona for the first time (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and finished sixth in the Challenge Barcelona-Maresme.

Ironman winner 2013

In July 2013 he won a race in the Challenge series in Spain and in August he won the Ironman Sweden . In November he set the fastest time of a Portuguese athlete on the Ironman distance at 8:08:34 at the Ironman Florida .
He has been married to Carolina Silva Gomes since March 2014 .

In July 2016, he finished second at Ironman Canada behind the American Andy Potts . In June 2018, the 34-year-old was tenth at Ironman France .
