Craig Walton
Craig Walton (born October 10, 1975 in Ulverstone ) is a former Australian triathlete . He is junior runner-up world triathlon champion (1995) and an Olympian (2000).
Career
Born in Tasmania, Craig Walton has been active in triathlon since 1990.
In 1995 he became junior runner-up in the world triathlon. At the World Cup in Perth in 2000, he won bronze. His nickname is "Waldo" .
2000 Summer Olympics
The six-time World Cup winner also took part in the Olympic premiere in 2000 and finished 27th in Sydney. He was also successful in the traditional Noosa Triathlon six times between 1997 and 2007 . At his first start on the long distance, he finished third in May 2001 at the Ironman California (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). He was trained by Brett Sutton .
In 2008, after 17 active years, he retired from active triathlon events.
After his active time he was still active as a trainer and trained e.g. B. also the triathletes Emma Moffatt , the Swiss Daniela Ryf and Emma Snowsill , with whom he was in a private relationship at the time.
