Samantha Warriner (born Samantha Jane Warriner on August 1, 1971 in Alton (Hampshire) , England ) is a former triathlete starting for New Zealand . She is a two-time Olympian (2004, 2008), two-time aquathlon world champion (2004, 2009) and Ironman winner (2011) and is included in the best list of New Zealand triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Her nicknames are Samma or Wazza .

In 2001 she played her first triathlon and in 2003 she won the Oceanic Triathlon Championship.

2004 Summer Olympics

She started in 2004 and again in 2008 in the triathlon at the Summer Olympics, where she reached 18th and 16th place.

In 2004 and again in 2009 she became aquathlon world champion (2.5 km running, 1 km swimming and 2.5 km running). In December 2009 she married her husband Stephen Bradley . She continues to compete under her maiden name Warriner .

Ironman winner 2011

In 2010 she was diagnosed with a cardiac disorder and only 14 weeks after a heart operation she achieved her first victory in the Ironman long distance triathlon (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) at the Ironman in Taupo, New Zealand in March 2011 ). Warriner was trained by Siri Lindley .

Her daughter was born in July 2012 and she was taking time off. Since 2013 Warriner was again active in the Triathlon World Cup until she declared her professional career over in December 2015.

Samantha Warriner now lives in Whangarei .
