Susie Cheetham (* 26 February 1986 as Susannah Hignett in Dorset ) is a triathlete from the United Kingdom and two-time Ironman -Siegerin (2017, 2019). She is included in the best list of British triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Susie Hignett was active in running in her youth.

Professional athlete since 2008

She started as a professional athlete in 2008.

In April 2014 she married the South African Rob Cheetham , who also trains her and has since started as Susie Cheetham . In October she started at the Ironman Barcelona for the first time on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and finished third.

In 2015 she finished sixth at the Ironman Hawaii . In April 2016 she finished second at the Ironman South Africa .

Ironman winner 2017

In May 2017 she achieved her first Ironman victory in Brazil and set a new course record and personal best with her winning time. As in 2015, she finished the Ironman Hawaii 2017 in sixth place. In July 2019, the then 33-year-old won the Ironman Hamburg .
