Stéphane Poulat (born December 8, 1971 in Saint-Martin-d'Hères ) is a former French triathlete , competitor at the Summer Olympics (2004) and World Triathlon Champion (2005, 2006). He is included in the best list of French triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

In 1989 Stéphane Poulat took part in his first triathlon.

In 1997 he became French national champion on the short distance triathlon and he was able to successfully defend this title the following year.

2004 Summer Olympics

In 2004 he started for France at the Olympic Summer Games in Athens and finished 14th.

In September 2011 he won the first edition of the Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix France . He started for the Club Beauvais Triathlon .

State champion triathlon middle distance 2010

Poulat was active for many years in competitions on the short distance and in 2010 he became the French state champion in the triathlon middle distance in Dijon.

He started the long distance for the first time in 2009 and in November 2011 in the United States at his first Ironman . In Tempe (Arizona) he was second fastest after the swimming distance, fifth.

In 2014 he ended his time as a triathlon professional. He lives in Le Plessis-Robinson .
