Cyril Viennot (born June 5, 1982 in Dole ) is a French triathlete , long distance world champion (2015) and Ironman winner (2014). He is ranked second in the list of French triathletes on the Ironman distance . (As of August 2018)

Career

In the triathlon, Cyril Viennot mainly starts in long-distance competitions.

At the Ironman Hawaii (World Championship) in October 2013, he finished twelfth.

Triathlon professional since 2014

Viennot has been a professional triathlete since 2014. In July, he won his first long distance win at Ironman UK in Bolton (Greater Manchester). In September he finished third at the World Triathlon Long Distance Championship in China.
With his victory at Ironman UK , Viennot qualified for a starting place at Ironman Hawaii in July and he finished fifth as the best Frenchman in Kona in October.

World champion triathlon long distance 2015

In May 2015, he finished ninth at the European Triathlon Middle Distance Championship. In Sweden he won the Triathlon World Championship on the long distance in June and in October he finished sixth in his fifth start in the Ironman Hawaii.

Runner-up world champion triathlon long distance 2016

In September 2016 he was runner-up in the long-distance triathlon world championship.

He started the 2017 season in February as the best European with fourth place in the Ironman 70.3 Geelong. In July, the 35-year-old won the Ironman UK for the second time after 2014 .

In August 2018 he won his third Ironman race with the Ironman Copenhagen in a personal best and the second fastest time of a French athlete .

Viennot starts for the Beauvais Triathlon association and he lives in Beauvais .
