Alexandra Tondeur (born March 20, 1987 ) is a Belgian triathlete . She is U23 European duathlon champion (2010), multiple national triathlon champion (2010, 2016), European mid-distance triathlon champion (2018) and reigning long-distance triathlon world champion (2019).

Career

In 2007 Alexandra Tondeur got into triathlon.

In May 2009 she became Vice-European Champion U23 Duathlon in Budapest.

In she became national champion on the short distance triathlon and in May she also became U23 European duathlon champion in Nancy, France.

In 2011 and 2012, Alexandra Tondeur had to take a break from the triathlon due to an injury.
In 2013 she became Belgian Vice State Champion Duathlon.

First start of the long-distance triathlon in 2013

In 2013 she started the long-distance triathlon for the first time.
At the Ironman 70.3 European Championships in August 2015 in Wiesbaden she took third place.

In August 2016 she was fourth at the Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun and national champion in the triathlon middle distance.

In July 2017, the then 30-year-old finished third at the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt am Main. In 2017 she was able to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championship) for the first time, where she finished 33rd in October.

In July 2018 she was sixth in the ITU World Championships on the long distance triathlon in Denmark. As part of the Challenge Madrid she became Vice-European Triathlon Long Distance Champion in September and European Triathlon Middle Distance Champion in Ibiza in October.

In May 2019 the 32-year-old became world champion in the long-distance triathlon in Pontevedra (Spain).

Alexandra Tondeur is trained by the former Belgian triathlete Luc Van Lierde (* 1969).
