Sofie Hooghe (born January 2, 1991 in Kortrijk ) is a Belgian duathlete and triathlete . She is junior duathlon world champion (2010) and two-time triathlon state champion (2014, 2016).

Career

Sofie Hooghe started triathlon at the age of 11. In September 2010, the 19-year-old became Junior Duathlon World Champion in Scotland and in the two following years she was U23 Vice World Champion on the short distance duathlon. In 2014, after eleven years with the No Limit Team in Avelgem , she switched to Lys Triathlon Team Latem (LTTL), for which Frederik Van Lierde also competes .

In July 2014 she became the elite triathlon state champion on the short distance.

As the third-best Belgian triathlete on the ITU Olympic qualification list, she missed her goal of achieving a starting place at the 2016 Summer Olympics after Belgium only managed to secure two starting places in the women.

In August 2017 she became Vice State Champion Triathlon.

Sofie Hooghe lives in Heestert . In 2015 she completed a bachelor's degree in accounting and taxes.
