Camilla Pedersen (born June 8, 1983 in Esbjerg ) is a Danish triathlete . She is two-time European champion in the long distance (2011), in the middle distance (2013, 2017), she won the Ironman European Championship in 2013 and is triathlon world champion in the long distance (2014).

Career

In 2010 Camilla Pedersen started her first triathlon.

European Champion Long Distance Triathlon 2011

In 2011, Camilla Pedersen became the European triathlon champion in Finland in the long distance (4 km swimming, 120 km cycling and 30 km running). Pedersen is trained by the Danish national coach Michael Krüger . Her nickname is "Mille". In July 2012 she finished second at the World Triathlon Long Distance Championship.

In May 2013 Pedersen became European champion in the middle distance, in June also triathlon vice world champion in the long distance and in July she won the Ironman European Championship .

After a serious training accident with the bike on September 3rd, Camilla Pedersen was in an artificial coma with skull fractures. In mid-October she was allowed to leave the hospital for the first time for a few days.

World Champion Long Distance Triathlon 2014

In 2014 she returned to racing and in April she won the Challenge Fuerteventura . In September she won the title of world champion in the long-distance triathlon in China after two runner-up titles in previous years.

In June 2015, Camilla Pedersen was runner-up in Sweden's long-distance triathlon and in October she was eighth at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. In November 2016, as in the previous year, she was third at Ironman Mexico .

Triathlon European champion middle distance 2017

In June 2017 she was again European triathlon champion in the middle distance after 2013 as part of the Challenge Herning in Denmark. The then 35-year-old finished fourth at the ITU World Championships on the long-distance triathlon in July 2018. In September she finished second at Ironman Wales .

In August 2019, after 8:49:23 h, she was second behind the German Anne Haug in the personal best in Ironman Copenhagen .

Camilla Pedersen starts together with Henrik Hyldelund and Martin Jensen in the Danish Fusion team .
