Lisbeth Kristensen (born February 17, 1972 ) is a former Danish triathlete . She is ITU world champion (2001) and runner-up world champion (2004) on the long distance, two-time European champion on the long distance (2004, 2006) and two-time Ironman winner (2006).

Career

Lisbeth Kristensen started in the Danish national team from 1995 to 2010. In 2000, she started the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) for the first time. Lisbeth Kristensen was a professional athlete on Team TBB and she was trained by Brett Sutton .

World champion triathlon long distance 2001

In August 2001 she won the world champion title over the long distance in Denmark. In 2004 and again in 2006 she became the European long-distance triathlon champion. She started three times at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships) and achieved her best placement in 2004 with seventh place. She has been working as a coach since 2012.

She lives with the former British triathlete Andrew Johns (* 1973) and their two children in Leysin , Switzerland.
