Suzanne Nielsen (* 1970 in Holstebro ) is a former Danish triathlete . She is European triathlon champion on the Olympic distance (1996), Ironman winner (1998) and triathlon world champion on the long distance (1999).

Career

In 1996 she became European triathlon champion on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).

In 1998 she won the Ironman New Zealand and in July 1999 she became world champion in the long-distance triathlon. She was able to qualify three times for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships) and achieved her best placement with fourth place in 1999.

In 2001 Suzanne Nielsen ended her career as a professional athlete. She lives with her partner in Hillerød and works as a trainer.
