Susan Latshaw
Susan (Sue) Latshaw (* 1961 in Pittsburgh ) is a former American triathlete . She is Xterra world champion in cross triathlon (1998), Ironman winner (1997) and she is included in the best list of American triathletes on the Ironman distance .
Career
Sue Latshaw was a professional triathlete for fifteen years from October 1986 to October 2001. She started on the short and long distance.
In August 1989 she started in Avignon at the first world championship on the triathlon short distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) and finished 21st.
In 1993 she was third at the Ironman Hawaii. In 1996 she became American champion on the short distance triathlon.
In 1997, Latshaw became the fifth woman to complete an Ironman under nine hours in Roth.
World champion cross triathlon 1998
In October 1998 she was Maui Xterra world champion in cross triathlon (1.5 km swimming, 32 km mountain bike and 12 km cross country run).
In October 2001 she declared her career over.
