Kerstin Weule (* 1966 in Braunlage ) is a German-American triathlete and world champion in the Xterra Cross Triathlon (2000).

Career

Kerstin Weule grew up in Germany and was active in swimming. She started her first swimming competition at the age of 11 and was German swimming champion in the team championship for three years in a row for her club SSF Bonn from 1982 to 1984.

At the age of 17, she switched to the Pentathlon . In 1991 she started triathlon.

In 1989 she moved to Colorado in the United States. In 1994 she was fourth in the national triathlon championships on the short distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).
In 1996 she received US citizenship and started at the World Long Distance Championship for the United States, where she finished 21st. In 1998 she finished ninth in Japan.

During her eight-year triathlon career, she won 19 Xterra titles, including the Pro Series USA in 1999 and 2000. In 2000, Kerstin Weule became world champion in the Xterra Cross Triathlon.

In 2003 she declared her active time over. She was inducted into the Xterra Hall of Fame in 2007.
