Rubén Ruzafa Cueto (born September 9, 1984 in Málaga ) is a Spanish mountain bike professional and triathlete . In cross triathlon he is seven-time and reigning world champion (2008, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018) and two-time European champion (Xterra 2015, ETU 2016).

Career

At the Mountain Bike World Championships in 2005, Ruzafa won the relay championship.

Rubén Ruzafa, originally from Málaga, increasingly started in cross triathlon (off-road triathlon with mountain bike instead of racing bike).

World Champion Xterra Cross-Triathlon 2008, 2013 and 2014

In October 2008 he won the world championship title on the Pacific island of Maui ahead of the Austrian Michael Weiss .
In July 2013 he was ITU Vice World Champion Cross Triathlon in the Netherlands and in October he was able to repeat his success from 2008 and again won the title of Xterra World Champion Cross Triathlon.

ITU world champion cross triathlon 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018

In August 2014 he became ITU world champion cross triathlon in Germany. In October he was also able to win the Xterra World Championship in Hawaii for the third time.

In September 2015 he became Xterra European Champion in England. Only a few weeks later he won the ITU World Championship title again in Sardinia in cross triathlon after his success the previous year. In November he finished third at the Xterra World Championship.

In Hawaii he became Xterra Vice World Champion Cross Triathlon in October 2016.

In July 2018, the then 33-year-old became ITU world champion cross triathlon for the fourth time.
