Sarah Coope
Sarah Coope (* in Eastbourne ) is a former British duathlete and triathlete . She is a six-time European triathlon champion.
Career
Sarah Coope was very versatile in triathlon and, as the most successful British athlete of the 1980s, she was active over various distances:
- Short distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running)
- Middle distance (2.5 km swimming, 80 km cycling and 20 km running)
- Long distance (4 km swimming, 120 km cycling and 30 km running)
- Ironman distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km bike and 42.195 km run)
Between 1986 and 1989 she was a six-time European triathlon champion.
In 1991 Sarah Coope was vice European champion in the duathlon and in October she was third at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships). It has not appeared internationally since 1996.
Private
Her daughter Chloe Cook (* 1994) is also active as a triathlete. Sarah Coope works as a nutrition and fitness consultant.
