Rebekah Keat (born February 20, 1978 in Albury ) is a former triathlete from Australia . She is junior world champion duathlon (1997), vice world champion triathlon in the juniors (1998), vice world champion in the long distance triathlon (2009) and two-time Ironman winner (2007, 2010). She is included in the best list of triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

In 1997, 19-year-old Rebekah Keat became Junior World Champion in Duathlon in Spain. Rebekah Keat was runner-up in the 1998 Lausanne triathlon junior world champion.

2004 doping ban

In 2004 she won the Ironman Western Australia in her first start over the long distance - but was disqualified after the race due to positive doping results and suspended for two years. Later investigations brought up evidence of contaminated dietary supplements.

Rebekah Keat won the long distance race in Australia in 2007 (3.86 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running). At the Challenge Roth in July 2009 she set second place and her time of 8:39:24 h behind Chrissie Wellington, the second fastest time ever achieved on the Ironman distance. She was trained by Brett Sutton .

In October 2009 she was runner-up in the long distance world championship in Perth. In August 2010, she won her second Ironman in Kentucky. From 2009 to 2011 she started as a professional athlete for TeamTBB .

She has been married to trainer Siri Lindley since January 2015. Today she works as a trainer and coach for the Sirius Tri Club team .
