The Ironman 70.3 Barcelona is one since 2014 in Spain Barcelona taking place Triathlon -Sportveranstaltung over the middle distance (1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km run).
This race in Spain was held for the first time in May 2014 instead of the Half-Challenge Barcelona-Maresme, which has been taking place here since 2009 and in which the ETU European Championships in the middle distance had already been held in 2013.
The Danish Camilla Pedersen won four times in a row from 2012 to 2015. The German Jan Frodeno was able to repeat his 2015 victory in May 2017.
The last race took place here on May 19, 2019. The seventh event scheduled for October 4, 2020 had to be canceled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the next date is October 3, 2021.
Course records
The course record has been held by the Frenchman Sylvain Sudrie with 4:02:43 hours since the first edition (as the Ironman 70.3 race) in May 2014 . The course record for women was achieved in 2015 by Camilla Pedersen from Denmark with a time of 4:33:34 hours.
