Great stone graves near Volkov

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic graves at Wolkow were several megalithic tombs of unknown numbers from the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Wolkow , a district of Warrenzin in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). They were likely destroyed in the early 20th century. According to Friedrich Schlie , in the 1890s there were still some untouched "megalithic tombs" on the Wolkow field , about which he did not provide any details. In 1899 Robert Beltz only gave the indication "Wolkow: Steinkammer (?)". About 2 km southwest of Wolkow is the still preserved large stone grave of Upost .
