The building at Schloßstraße 2 in the Bavarian municipality of Thundorf in Lower Franconia in the Bad Kissingen district is one of the Thundorf architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian list of monuments under the number D-6-72-157-11 .

history

The property was built around the 18th to the middle of the 19th century as a single-storey saddle roof building with a solid ground floor and half-timbered upper floor . The curved, double St. Andrew's crosses , which were common up to 1800, indicate the 18th century when the gable was built.

From the 19th century it was owned by the Braun family, one of the oldest families in the town, who can be linked to the carpenter's profession in old church accounts. Until 1915 there was a well in front of the house. The half-timbered structure on the first floor was replaced by brickwork in 1925 . The previously plastered half-timbered gables were only exposed in 1963. The two located on the roof drag dormers were probably attached only later.
