Bianca Steurer (born September 6, 1986 ) is an Austrian triathlete . She is the current national champion in the long distance (2019), Vorarlberg national champion in the triathlon sprint distance (2012, 2013, 2019) and middle distance (2014, 2015). She is included in the best list of Austrian triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Bianca Steurer has been running triathlons since 2010. For the first time in 2011 and again in 2012 she was able to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running).

Triathlon professional since 2013

Bianca Steurer started as a professional athlete in January 2013. In September, after a training accident while cycling, she had to end the current season early and forego the planned start at the Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix France in France.

At her first start on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running), she finished tenth on Mallorca in September 2014.

In August 2015, after 2012, she was able to win the Allgäu Triathlon again in the middle distance and in September, one day before her 29th birthday, she won the Trans Vorarlberg Triathlon .

She has been racing for the Skinfit Racing Team since the 2016 season . In May 2016 she won her first medal in an Ironman 70.3 race in Barcelona with third place and in July she was ninth at the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt am Main . She qualified for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii ( Ironman World Championships ) and took 28th place on October 8th.

Bianca Steurer was trained by Luboš Bílek until 2017 and since 2018 she has been working with Robert Mücke . At the Challenge Roth on the long distance she finished sixth in July 2018 and with 9:02:44 h, a new personal best on the long distance. In September 2018 she achieved her first podium finish in an Ironman race with bronze at Ironman Italy .

In May 2019, the then 32-year-old came second at Ironman 70.3 Austria in St. Pölten . With fourth place at Ironman 70.3 Luxembourg , she qualified for a starting place at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships 2019 in Nice in June. In July she was also second in the long distance behind the Swiss Daniela Ryf at Ironman Austria and qualified for the Ironman Hawaii .

She lives with her partner, the triathlete Thomas Meusburger in Schwarzenberg in the Bregenzerwald . In February 2020, she announced on social media that she was expecting a child in August.
