The Triathlon Bregenz (also called “ Raiffeisen Triathlon Bregenz ” after the main sponsor ) is an Austrian triathlon sports event over the short distance (Olympic distance: 1.5 km swimming, 43 km cycling and 9.8 km running) in Vorarlberg .

The Raiffeisen Triathlon Bregenz is organized by the triathlon club Trigantium Bregenz and was held for the first time on June 17, 2018.

Between 2001 and 2006, the Brigantium Triathlon, a race over the Olympic distance with international participation, was held six times in Bregenz .

The race is also considered a qualifying competition for the Age Group World Championship 2019 in Lausanne. On the day before the first event , the Vorarlberg Aquathlon Junior State Championships were held as part of the Swim & Run (25–200 m swimming, 550–2300 m running) under the patronage of the German triathlete and multiple Ironman winner Nicole Leder .

With Bianca Steurer (ÖTRV triathlon long distance national team; 2: 18: 10.7 h) and Leon Pauger (ÖTRV B-team; 2: 06: 05.1 h), the victories at the 2018 first edition went to two athletes from the ÖTRV National squad .

The third event, originally planned for June 21, 2020, had to be canceled as the coronavirus pandemic spread .

Route

  • 1.5 km swim in Lake Constance near Bregenz on a two-way round course with 100 m shore leave between the two laps
  • 43 km cycling on a circuit from Bregenz via Lochau , Hörbranz , Scheidegg and Langen near Bregenz through the Austrian-German border area with 710 m
  • 9.8 km run in Bregenz on a circuit to be completed three times
