Peter Schoissengeier (born October 10, 1979 in Zwettl an der Rodl ) is a former Austrian triathlete . He is included in the best list of Austrian triathletes on the Ironman distance .
Career
Schoissengeier grew up in Upper Austria and after his training in Linz he moved to Dornbirn in Vorarlberg and lives in Schwarzach .
Triathlon national champion short distance 2004
In 2004 he became Austrian national champion over the short triathlon distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) on Vienna's Danube Island .
In 2005 he became the Vorarlberg regional champion in the half marathon. Peter Schoissengeier started for the Vorarlberg MP team and in the 2nd German Bundesliga for the ALZ Sigmaringen .
He was trained by the former Swiss triathlon professional Olivier Bernhard (* 1968) and the German swimmer Michael Jeschke .
Ironman Hawaii 2008
In April 2008 he started in South Africa for the first time on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and finished third at the Ironman South Africa . He was able to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships) and finished 64th in October.
In 2009 he became the Vorarlberg regional champion in the duathlon. In August 2010 Peter Schoissengeier declared his active time over.
