Nikolaus Wihlidal (born April 5, 1981 in Vienna ) is an Austrian triathlete and three-time and national champion over the Olympic distance (2014, 2017, 2018). He is included in the best list of Austrian triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

At Ironman Austria Nikolaus Wihlidal finished in July 2011, the eleventh and on the Danube Island, he was in June 2012 Vice-champion over the Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike and 10 km run).
In August, Wihlidal also became Vice State Champion on the long distance triathlon at Lake Neusiedl.

State champion triathlon short distance 2014 and 2017

At the Trumer Triathlon , Wihlidal was triathlon state champion over the Olympic distance in July 2014 and in October he came second in the half marathon on Lake Constance.

In August 2016 he won the Krems Triathlon on the Olympic distance for the second time after 2013 , after winning the sprint distance here in 2014. In July 2017 he became national champion in the short distance triathlon for the second time at the Mostiman Triathlon .

Age group European and World Champion 2017

In June 2017 Nikolaus Wihlidal was triathlon European champion in the age group 35-39 at the Olympic distance in Kitzbühel. In September he also became world champion in his age group in Rotterdam. The then 37-year-old became Austrian national champion over the Olympic distance for the third time on July 14th at the Mostiman Triathlon .

In June 2019 he finished second on the short distance at the Chiemsee Triathlon .

Nikolaus Wihlidal lives with his partner in Wolfsgraben .
