Lukas Pertl (born May 3, 1995 in Schwarzach im Pongau ) is an Austrian triathlete . He is multiple Austrian champion in aquathlon and on the triathlon sprint distance.

Career

Lukas Pertl has been practicing triathlon since 2008 and he has been trained by Anton Kesselbecher since November 2010 .

He has been competing in the European Cup since 2011, he is in the A-team of the Austrian Triathlon Association (ÖTRV) and a member of the Skinfit Racing Team . In May 2011, the then 16-year-old Austrian youth state champion duathlon.

Since November 2013 he has been a competitive athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces.

In June 2014 he became Austrian junior triathlon state champion on the sprint distance in Neufeld an der Leitha as part of the "Neufelder Triathlon".

In February 2015 he improved his fourth place in Cape Town by 116 places to the 269th place in the ITU world rankings. In May, on his 20th birthday, he qualified for the 2015 U23 European Championship in Geneva.

In June he was able to successfully defend his title from the previous year at Neufelder See and became elite state champion on the triathlon sprint distance.

In June 2016 he was third in the overall standings at Neufelder See and U23 national champion in the triathlon sprint distance. In the ITU Point List 2016, he came in 113th as the fourth best Austrian.

Lukas Pertl lives in Dorfgastein . His younger brother Philip Pertl (* 1998) is also active in the Austrian national team as a triathlete (senior squad, youngsters).
