Alexander Alexandrowitsch Brjukhankow ( Russian Александр Александрович Брюханков , English Alexander Bryukhankov ; born April 12, 1987 in Andropov ) is a Russian triathlete , national triathlon champion of the year 2011, member of the national team and triple Olympic starter in 2008, 2012 and 2016

Career

Alexander Bryukhankov is one of the most famous and internationally most present Russian triathletes and has been taking part in ITU elite competitions since 2005. His younger brother Andrei Bryukhankov is also active as a triathlete.

Junior Vice World Champion Triathlon 2006

In June 2006 he became vice European champion in the youth class and in September also vice world champion. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he finished 24th.

In June 2009 he finished third at the U23 European Championship.
Alexander Brjuchankow also competes in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux as a legionnaire. In 2010, Bryukhankov competed for Mulhouse Olympique Tri . In Dunkirk (May 23, 2010) he finished 21st and was the second of the three triathlètes classants l'équipe (Valentin Mesheryakov: 19th, Francesc Godoy : 47th). At the Grand Final in la Baule (Triathlon Audencia, September 18, 2010), Brjuchankow was 19th and was the best of his club. Bryuchankov was absent from Beauvais, Paris and Tourangeaux. In 2011, Brjuchankow started for St. Jean de Monts Vendee . In Nice (April 24, 2011) he finished ninth in the individual standings, making him the best in his club.

2012 Summer Olympics

In August 2012 he started at the Summer Olympic Games and finished seventh in London.

2016 Summer Olympics

Alexander Bryukhankov also competed for Russia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on August 18, but he could not finish the race.

At the European Championships in July 2018, he finished ninth as the best Russian athlete.

In July 2019, the 32-year-old finished third at the European Aquathlon Championships in Romania.
