Andrei Alexandrowitsch Brjukhankow ( Russian Андрей Александрович Брюханков , English Andrey Bryukhankov , also listed as Brukhankov in ITU rankings ; * February 27, 1991 in Rybinsk ) is a Russian triathlete and reigning middle champion of the ETU European Championship in 2019.

Career

Andrei Bryukhankov is a member of the Russian national team. His brother Alexander Bryukhankov is the Russian elite triathlon champion of 2011.

On October 12, 2010 Andrei Bryukhankov was awarded the title Master of Sports ( Russian Мастер срорта России ). Andrei Bryukhankov also takes part in non-ITU competitions, such as the Volkswagen Aldiana Triathlon in Cyprus, in which most of the Russian elite triathletes started. Andrei Brjuchankow took fourth place in the sprint category.

In 2010, Brjuchankow also took part in two competitions of the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux and, like his brother, competed for Mulhouse Olympique Tri : In Paris (July 18, 2010) he finished 45th and at the Grand Final in la Baule (triathlon Audencia, September 18, 2010) 40.

In August 2013 he was third at the state championship on the short distance. He won his first European Cup race in Istanbul in July 2017.

At his first start in the middle distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) he finished 13th in Ironman 70.3 Rügen in September 2018 .

In July 2019, the 28-year-old became ETU European Champion in Romania in the middle distance triathlon.
