Giulio Molinari (born April 25, 1988 in Novara ) is an Italian triathlete and three-time national as well as three-time and reigning European champion in the triathlon middle distance (2014, 2016, 2018). He is ranked second in the best list of Italian triathletes on the Ironman distance . (As of March 2019)

Career

In October 2014 he became European triathlon champion over the middle distance on Mallorca. Giulio Molinari won the Lake Caldaro Triathlon three times in a row in 2013, 2014 and 2015 .

In May 2015 he was Vice European Triathlon Champion over the middle distance in Rimini and in 2016 he was able to repeat the success of 2014. In his first start on the long distance, he finished eighth at the Ironman South Africa in April 2017 . In September he finished second in Austria at the Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl Challenge (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21 km running).

At the Ironman World Championships he finished 20th as the best Italian in October 2018 in Hawaii.

The policeman Giulio Molinari lives with his wife in Caltignaga .
