Patrick Dirksmeier (born January 23, 1984 in Münster ) is a German triathlete . He was German runner-up in the long-distance triathlon and European triathlon champion in the middle distance (2017).

Career

From 1995 to 2004 Patrick Dirksmeier played swimming as a competitive sport.

In 2009 he switched to triathlon and since 2014 the lawyer has started as a triathlon professional.

European triathlon champion middle distance 2017

In June 2017 Dirksmeier became triathlon European champion in the middle distance as part of the Challenge Herning in Denmark. Patrick Dirksmeier is trained by Ute Mückel .

At his first start on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running), the 34-year-old was German runner-up in the long distance in Hamburg. In December he finished fifth at the Ironman Western Australia .

He has been married since 2016 and lives in Bochum with his wife and son .
