Christian Birngruber (born February 15, 1983 ) is an Austrian police officer who is active in duathlon and triathlon . He is multiple Austrian national champion (2011, 2015, 2016).

Career

Christian Birngruber studied psychology in Salzburg and then worked as a school psychologist. In 2011 he switched to the police school and since 2013 he has been working as a police officer.

National champion cross triathlon 2011

In August 2011 he became Austrian national champion in cross triathlon.
At the European Police Championships in Bremen in August 2014, he was runner-up on the Olympic triathlon distance.

In August 2015 he became Austrian cross triathlon champion for the second time after 2011 in Berndorf near Salzburg.

He started for the RLC Union Sterngartl club and has been racing for the pewag racing team of the chain manufacturer pewag since the 2016 season .

State champion triathlon middle distance 2016

In July 2016 he became national champion in the triathlon middle distance. At the European half-distance championship in September, he finished eleventh at Walchsee. In September the 34-year-old won the Austria Triathlon on the half-distance .

In June 2018 he became European Champion at the Police Triathlon Championships.

Christian Birngruber lives in Reichenau in the Mühlkreis .
