Olivier Bernhard
Olivier Bernhard (born June 16, 1968 ) is a former Swiss duathlete , triathlete , multiple Swiss champion, duathlon world champion (1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004) and multiple Ironman winner (1998, 2002 and 2003). He is included in the list of Swiss triathletes on the Ironman distance .
Career
Olivier Bernhard started triathlon and duathlon at the same time in 1989.
Swiss champion triathlon short distance 1991
Until 1993 he started mainly over the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). Simultaneously with the transfer to the professional camp, Bernhard switched to the long-distance triathlon area.
Swiss champion triathlon long distance 1996
In his active career he won the Ironman Switzerland five times in Zurich and between 1994 and 2004 eight times the Powerman Duathlon Zofingen .
ITU world champion duathlon long distance 1998
In 1998, 2000 and 2004 he was also world champion at the official duathlon world championships over the long distance (first run 10 km, bike distance 158 km, second run 30 km), which earned him the nickname "King of Zofingen".
In 2002 Olivier Bernhard founded his own company for athlete coaching.
Bernhard ended his active career in September 2005. After his active career, he trained the Austrian elite triathlete Peter Schoissengeier and the Swiss elite triathlete Simone Brändli for a few years .
In January 2010 Olivier Bernhard founded the company On AG together with David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti and is involved in the development of running shoes.
